Dr Charles Tsang graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1987 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. In 1992, Dr Tsang commenced a fellowship on advanced surgery with the Singapore government, followed by completing his Diploma in Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow and Edinburgh. He later continued his postgraduate studies at the National University of Singapore earning his Master of Medicine (Surgery), before going on to complete advanced residency in Colon and Rectal Surgery and receiving his Master of Science in Experimental Surgery from the University of Minnesota in the United States.
As part of his specialist training, Dr Tsang honed his skills in colorectal surgery in Singapore at notable institutions including Singapore General Hospital, the National Cancer Centre Singapore, as well as at the National University Hospital and National University Cancer Institute Singapore where he was Head of Division of Colorectal Surgery and Head of Surgical oncology in 2012 before joining Colorectal Clinic Associates in private practice.
He is also a regularly invited lecturer and presenter for many events, sharing his knowledge with fellow surgeons and the next generation of doctors worldwide. Dr Tsang continues to be an active member of several international and regional organisations including, but not limited to, the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Academy of Medicine Singapore, Academy of Medicine Malaysia, Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia. He is also a published author and an invited reviewer for the numerous medical journals worldwide.
Dr Tsang accepts referrals for all cancer types, with a special clinical interest in surgery for colorectal cancer.
