Dr Tan Yung Khan graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2000 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. He later completed his postgraduate surgical degrees at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2006, as well as his Master of Medicine (Surgery) from National University of Singapore in 2007.
In 2010, Dr Tan attended Tan Tock Seng Hospital to complete his specialist urology training. After being awarded the National Medical Research Council Fellowship, he went on to train at the University Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he focused on research into new ways to ablate kidney cancers and honing his skill in minimally invasive surgery. Later, he was awarded the Ministry of Health Manpower Development Plan award and was accepted into the Endourology Society Fellowship Programme at Columbia Medical Center in New York where he continued to develop his skills in endourology and minimally invasive urologic surgery.
He adopts a holistic approach to patient care and seeks to share his knowledge through his many leadership and educator roles, such as with Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Mount Alvernia Hospital and Raffles Hospital, as well as the Singapore Urological Association, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Yoong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Dr Tan accepts referrals for all cancer types, with a special clinical interest in surgery for kidney and prostate cancers.
