“As a woman and breast surgeon, I understand the profound impact breast cancer can have. I am committed to providing compassionate, personalised care to help every patient move forward with confidence and hope.”
Adjunct Assistant Professor Celene Ng is a breast surgeon with expertise in comprehensive breast care, including breast cancer screening, breast biopsies, lumpectomy, mastectomy, oncoplastic breast surgery, and minimally invasive breast surgery. She is particularly recognised for her work in advanced oncoplastic techniques and robotic and endoscopic breast surgery, helping patients achieve optimal cancer and cosmetic outcomes.
Dr Ng was formerly a Senior Consultant Breast Surgeon at the National University Hospital (NUH) and Head of Breast Surgery at Alexandra Hospital. She continues to serve as a Visiting Senior Consultant at both institutions, reflecting her ongoing commitment to patient care, education, and mentorship.
After completing her medical degree at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), Dr Ng underwent specialist training in General Surgery and Breast Surgery at NUH. She was subsequently awarded the Ministry of Health Human Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Scholarship to pursue advanced oncoplastic breast surgery training at the Nottingham Breast Institute in the United Kingdom, where she gained expertise in breast reconstruction and form-preserving surgical techniques.
A strong advocate for surgical innovation, Dr Ng established the Minimally Invasive Breast Surgery Programme at NUH in 2023 after undertaking advanced robotic and endoscopic training at renowned centres across Korea, Taiwan, and Europe. The programme expanded access to minimally invasive breast surgery in Singapore and complements her expertise across the full spectrum of breast care, including benign breast disease, breast cancer surgery, and oncoplastic reconstruction. In 2025, she led the country's first robotic mastectomy and reconstruction hands-on masterclass, bringing together participants from over 15 countries.
Dr Ng is also active in research and medical education, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and regular invitations to speak at local and international conferences on breast cancer management and surgical innovation. She previously served as Deputy Undergraduate Director for Phase III Surgery at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, and has been appointed as a Member of the International Postgraduate Deanery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Known for her compassionate and patient-centred approach, Dr Ng believes every patient deserves personalised care delivered with empathy, dignity, and confidence. She is passionate about early detection, breast cancer awareness, and empowering women to make informed decisions about their health.
