Dr Joseph Clarey focuses on tailoring treatments to the individual needs of patients and their families and is committed to ensuring patients feel supported throughout their treatment and beyond.
Biography
Dr Joseph Clarey is a clinical haematologist at Icon Cancer Centre Wesley, Chermside, North Lakes and Mackay. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at James Cook University and went on to complete his specialist haematology and bone marrow transplantation training at Townsville Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Red Cross Blood Service. He is well-versed in the management and treatment of a wide range of malignant and non-malignant blood disorders including leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplasia, cytopenias and haemostasis, haemoglobinopathies and disorders of iron homeostasis.
He is actively involved in research and recently completed a Masters of Clinical Trials Research with the University of Sydney and NHMRC. Dr Clarey attends several multidisciplinary meetings and participates in the continual development of junior doctors. He is also a laboratory Haematologist at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology.
