Biography
A/Prof Peter Gorayski is an experienced radiation oncologist who consults at multiple Icon Cancer Centre locations across South Australia including Windsor Gardens, Adelaide (Kurralta Park) and Noarlunga. He provides treatment services at Windsor Gardens and Noarlunga. After completing his medical degree at Flinders University in 2005 and specialist training in General Practice/Family Medicine in 2010, A/Prof Gorayski undertook radiation oncology training in Queensland, where he obtained fellowship in 2015. He now serves as a staff specialist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research, where he is instrumental in bringing proton therapy to Australia.
A/Prof Gorayski is also deeply invested in education, research, and clinical trials. He holds an academic appointment as Associate Professor at the University of South Australia, where he supervises and trains specialist doctors. He has a strong research interest in brain and prostate tumours, as well as proton therapy and artificial intelligence in radiation oncology. He is an active member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) and the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG).
He uses the latest advanced technologies, including volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guided radiotherapy (IGRT) and stereotactic radiation therapy techniques (SBRT/SRS). A/Prof Gorayski has extensive clinical experience in the treatment of a broad range of cancers, with particular interest in brain cancer, head and neck cancer, sarcoma, skin cancer, and prostate cancer. He also accepts referrals from across Australia for consideration of proton therapy.
