Biography
Prof Sankha Mitra trained as a Cancer Surgeon in India and worked as an oncologist at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. He worked as a Consultant Oncologist for 13 years in the UK specialising in breast, lung and skin cancers. Prof Mitra was the principal investigator for over 60 clinical trials. He was National Cancer Reviewer for the UK Department of Health and Associate at the General Medical Council UK.
Prof Mitra is passionate about medical education and is now leading the expansion of cancer services in country South Australia. He also worked for 2 years at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth. His clinical experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies with special interest in breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancer and urological cancers.
