Biography
Dr Brian Stein trained at the University of Adelaide and graduated in 1986. He began his specialist training at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and then completed training at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. Upon returning to Australia, he spent a year as a consultant in the Adelaide University Department of Medicine at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, before undertaking post-graduate research at The Hanson Centre for Cancer Research. Dr Stein joined Adelaide Cancer Centre in 1998 and he is still actively involved in undergraduate medical education at The University of Adelaide.
Dr Stein is principally located at Adelaide Cancer Centre at Kurralta Park and is a visiting medical oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Adelaide. He also consults at the Brian Fricker Oncology Centre (Burnside Hospital) one day per week.
His particular interest is in malignancies of the head and neck, and in treatment of cancer in the elderly. He remains actively involved in treatment of lymphoma and other solid tumours, including breast and gastro-enterological malignancies.
