Biography
Dr Nimisha Kumari is a medical oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Mackay and is also a staff specialist at Mackay Base Hospital. She is a caring clinician who believes in providing holistic care addressing each and every aspect of her patients and their families.
Dr Kumari completed her physician training at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney, New South Wales. She subsequently finished her advanced training in medical oncology during which she spent time training in New South Wales, Tasmania and Queensland. She manages tumours of different streams and has special interest in melanoma, lung, gastrointestinal (stomach, pancreas, bowel) and breast cancers.
Dr Kumari is actively involved in teaching medical students and junior medical staff, and has an immense interest in clinical trials. Dr Kumari also provides care through a tele oncology model of chemotherapy administration.
