Dr Harold Heah is a Ministry of Health-accredited specialist in otolaryngology and head & neck surgery, with extensive experience in managing head and neck tumours, including those of the thyroid, salivary glands, oral cavity, and sinuses. He is particularly skilled in surgical techniques such as endoscopic and transoral robotic surgery, having been the first surgeon in Asia to utilise the Medrobotics® Flex® Robotic System.
Dr Heah earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and completed his specialty training in Singapore. To further his expertise, he was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship, completing a clinical fellowship in Advanced Head & Neck Oncologic Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Previously, Dr Heah served as Director of Clinical Services at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Head & Neck Centre at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). His contributions to the field have been recognised with multiple awards, including the SingHealth House Officer, You Shine, and Service With A Heart awards. He has also held consulting roles at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital, and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Heah is deeply committed to medical education. He serves as a core faculty member in SingHealth’s Otolaryngology Residency Programme, where he was honored with the SingHealth Outstanding Faculty Award. He has also been involved in mentoring undergraduate students at both Duke-NUS Medical School and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS.
A highly regarded contributor to the medical community, Dr Heah has an impressive portfolio of co-authored peer-reviewed publications, advancing research and knowledge in his field. His expertise and insights have made him a sought-after speaker, invited to present at both local and international conferences.
