Dr Lee Wai Peng graduated with MBBS from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2007. In 2014, she completed her Masters of Medicine (Surgery) at NUS and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh after completing advanced specialist training in General Surgery. Dr Lee continued to hone her skills at the renowned hospitals in United Kingdom and Japan, focusing on treatment for breast cancer and the latest advancements in surgical techniques for partial and full breast reconstruction.
With a strong passion for clinical research, Dr Lee has been the principal and co-investigator for ten studies, published in several international journals including Cancer Reports and The Breast.
Dr Lee is also committed to nurturing the future generations of medical professionals and holds several teaching positions, including as a clinical mentor at the SingHealth GS Residency Programme. She currently holds teaching positions at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine as a Senior Clinical Lecturer, Lee Kong Chien School of Medicine as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, and SingHealth Duke – NUS Surgery Academic Clinical Programme as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Prior to her departure from SingHealth, she was the Education Lead for Surgery Track, planning the clinical curriculum and mentoring students from the Lee Kong Chien School of Medicine.
Dr Lee is passionate about serving the public and was awarded Gold and Silver in the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards in 2020 and 2018 respectively. She firmly believes in promoting cancer awareness and the importance of early detection, and is actively involved in organising and giving talks to the public to help increase breast cancer awareness.
Dr Lee Wai Peng accepts referrals for all cancer types, with a special clinical interest in the treatment of breast cancer and benign breast diseases.
