Dr Leong Jern-Lin began his medical education at the National University of Singapore and obtained his medical degree (MBBS) in 1994, followed by a Fellowship in Otolaryngology from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow in 2000.
In 2005, Dr Leong became the first Singaporean doctor to be accepted into a one-year hands-on fellowship programme at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA, to train in rhinology and allergy care under Professor Martin J. Citardi and Professor Pete Batra through the Ministry of Health’s SingHealth Health Manpower Development Programme award. He was also awarded the Fellowship of the American Rhinologic Society (ARS) in 2007.
Dr Leong is internationally recognised for his surgical expertise and academic contribution to the field of nasal allergy, rhinology and nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) screening using narrow band imaging. He is one of a handful of ear, nose and throat (ENT) doctors that are trained in both the medical and surgical treatment of nasal conditions, ranging from allergy to sinusitis in both children and adults. He also specialises in performing revision endoscopic sinus surgery in patients that have undergone previous failed nasal surgeries. In addition, Dr Leong also performs endoscopic pituitary surgeries with neurosurgeons.
Dr Leong accepts referrals for all cancer types, with a special clinical interest in both adult and paediatric ENT cancers including those affecting the tonsils, adenoids, ears, thyroid, throat and salivary glands.
