Dr Melanie Seah embarked on her medical training with the National University of Singapore in 1995 and subsequently obtained Fellowship accreditation in General Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK.
Upon completion of fellowship training in breast surgery, she was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship by the Ministry of Health to further hone her clinical skills in breast oncoplastic surgery at the Marien Hospital in Duesseldorf, Germany.
Alongside her passion for clinical practice, Dr Seah believes in the importance of mentoring the future generation of doctors. She served as a Senior Clinical Lecturer with the Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and as a Clinical Teacher with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
Dr Seah has also presented and lectured at many local and international conferences and has authorship of numerous peer-reviewed indexed medical journals.
Dr Seah specialises in the management of breast diseases, encompassing the entire spectrum of both benign diseases and breast cancer, which involves breast cancer screening and performing breast biopsies from vacuum assisted biopsies to surgical biopsies. She has a special interest in breast cancer oncoplastic surgery, where she aims to achieve the best oncologic outcome and cosmetic result possible, tailored to each individual patient.
Dr Melanie Seah accepts referrals for all cancer types, with a special clinical interest in breast cancer and breast oncoplastic surgery. This includes breast conservation procedures such as skin sparing and nipple sparing mastectomies as well as breast reconstruction.
