Dr Bertha Woon is an experienced breast surgeon, with a special clinical interest in breast, endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery.
In 1996, Dr Woon completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and in 2001 obtained a Masters of Medicine (Surgery) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She was conferred a membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) in 2000 and subsequently became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in General Surgery. In 2004, she became a Fellow of the College of Surgeons and Academy of Medicine Singapore and was accredited as a Specialist in General Surgery by the Ministry of Health, Singapore.
Dr Woon is currently the chairman of the Medical Advisory Board at Gleneagles Hospital. She is an Associate Mediator for the Singapore Mediation Centre. She is a member of the Standing Committee on Professional Affairs at the Academy of Medicine Singapore, the Transplant Ethics Committee, and the National Medical Ethics Committee (NMEC).
She was a council member of the Singapore Medical Association (SMA) from 2007 to 2021 and was the vice-chairman of the Medical Indemnity Committee, board member of the Centre for Medical Ethics and Professionalism (SMA-CMEP), and one of the Directors of SMA Pte Ltd.
She can converse in English, Mandarin, French, Malay, Hokkien, Teochew (basic), Hainanese (basic), and Cantonese (basic), and looks forward to supporting her patients and their loved ones in their preferred language.
