Dr Tay Ze Yun is an experienced surgical oncologist, with special interests in head and neck masses and cancers, nose and sinus conditions, and sleep apnoea surgery.
Dr Tay graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS), receiving his medical degree from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2008. He was part of the inaugural batch of the SingHealth Otolaryngology Residency Programme, completing his specialist training in 2016. To further his expertise in head and neck surgery, Dr Tay undertook the two-year SingHealth Duke-NUS Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Fellowship from 2016 to 2018. This programme provided him with extensive experience in multidisciplinary care for complex head and neck conditions under the guidance of senior surgeons at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS).
In 2018 Dr Tay was awarded the Ministry of Health (MOH) Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Award, allowing him to pursue a fellowship in advanced head and neck surgical oncology at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, a leading institution for head and neck resection and reconstruction. During this fellowship, he focused on surgeries for complex head and neck conditions while advancing his research skills. After completing his training, Dr Tay also earned the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies (IFHNOS) fellowship, graduating with honours in 2020.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr Tay served as a Consultant ENT Head and Neck Surgeon at both Sengkang General Hospital and Singapore General Hospital. He also held the position of site chief for the SingHealth Duke-NUS Head & Neck Centre at Sengkang, where he led a multidisciplinary team to enhance sub-specialty services.
Dr Tay is dedicated to medical education, having served as the Undergraduate Education Director and currently as an Assistant Professor at both NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Duke-NUS. Under his leadership, his department received the NUS Clinical Training Excellence Award from 2019 to 2023.
