Successful ACHSI accreditation benefiting patient care

On Wednesday 23 December 2020, Icon Cancer Centre Singapore became the first oncology centres in Asia to receive the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) EQuiP Accreditation Certification.

Icon Cancer Centre Singapore CEO Serena Wee says that being ACHSI accredited supports Icon’s vision and dedication to providing safe and exceptional healthcare and places Icon as a leader in delivering patient-centred cancer care across Asia.

“Successfully completing our first ACHSI accreditation audit, alongside becoming the first oncology centre in Asia to achieve ACHSI accreditation, marks an important milestone for Icon. Every day, our teams work together to make a difference for each patient who walks through our doors. Meeting these international standards reflects our commitment to continuously improving the service we provide and placing the safety of our patients at the centre of everything we do,” Ms Wee said.

“This achievement is a testament to Icon’s robust governance structures, stringent policies and procedures, and dedication to providing compassionate and evidence-based care for patients and their families.”

The Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP) is a quality assessment and improvement program for healthcare organisations that support excellence in patient care and services, and continuous quality improvement. EQuIP standards are rigorously developed and accredited by the ISQua External Evaluation Association (IEEA).
