Dr Jennifer Liauw is the first female colorectal surgeon in Singapore.
Dr Liauw graduated from the University of Manchester, UK. She started her higher surgical training in the North West of England. She subsequently returned to Singapore to complete her training at the National University Hospital (NUH).
In 2005, Dr Liauw returned to the United Kingdom to advance her training as a colorectal fellow at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, under Professor Sir Neil Mortensen.
Dr Liauw has a special interest in colorectal conditions affecting women, including anal fissures, haemorrhoids, anal fistulas, and functional bowel disorders. She is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care, with a strong emphasis on patient education and shared decision-making. As Singapore’s first female colorectal surgeon, she provides women with the options of receiving specialist colorectal care from an experienced female surgeon, while welcoming and caring for all patients with colorectal conditions.
