Dr Tan Qing Ting is a Senior Consultant Breast Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in oncoplastic and minimally invasive breast surgery. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Dr Tan obtained fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore after completing her specialist surgical training in Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH).

Dr Tan has extensive experience in caring for patients with both benign and malignant breast conditions, including breast lumps, nipple discharge, mastitis, breast abscesses, hereditary breast cancer syndromes, carcinoma in situ, and breast cancer

Prior to entering private practice, Dr Tan was a specialist breast surgeon at KKH for 10 years and served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. She was awarded the Ministry of Health’s Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) to undertake advanced subspecialty training in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery at the Nottingham Breast Institute in the United Kingdom, a globally recognised centre of excellence in breast surgery.

She further broadened her expertise through training and observerships at several internationally renowned breast units, including The Royal Marsden Hospital (United Kingdom), National Cancer Center (Korea), Kameda Medical Center, and Nakagami Hospital (Japan). These experiences enable Dr Tan to offer a comprehensive range of modern, individualised treatment options for her patients.

During her time at KKH, Dr Tan pioneered minimally invasive breast surgery and performed the hospital’s first endoscopic mastectomy, expanding surgical options for patients seeking less invasive treatment approaches.

Committed to improving care for younger women affected by breast cancer, Dr Tan represented KKH in the SingHealth Young Women with Breast Cancer (YoWo) group and serves as a Global Ambassador for the Breast Cancer in Young Women Foundation.

Dr Tan has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is regularly invited to speak and conduct surgical training both locally and internationally. An advocate for public education, she frequently delivers breast health awareness talks in both English and Chinese.

“Excellent breast care brings together the science of clinical judgment and surgical expertise with the art of empathy, compassion, and respect for each patient’s unique journey.”
